Wilkes Community College - I'm a student there too..........

Wilkes Community College officials are also touting their results. In a news release yesterday, the school reported it has been honored by the North Carolina Community College System with the distinction of being one of 11 colleges to meet the standards for “Exceptional Institutional Performance.” WCC and only one other community college have received this recognition for the past two consecutive years, and WCC remains the only institution to receive the recognition for the past four consecutive years.

“Achieving this distinction, and building on our history of being an exceptional institution, is a reflection of the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff,” said WCC President Dr. Gordon Burns. “This designation shows that our college is meeting its mission to provide quality education and workforce training for our community.”

The NC Community College System measures the 58 community colleges across the state in eight core areas each year. To meet the system’s “Exceptional Institutional Performance” colleges must meet or exceed all 8 system standards.
